SOLD - Colt SAA Artillery 45 Colt - SOLD

Colt SAA Artillery Model.  5 1/2" 45 Colt.  The artillery model Single Action Army revolvers were US military revolvers that were referbished by Springfield Armory and Colt.  The barrels were shortened to 5 1/2" and there was no attempt to keep the parts together.  Therefore, the numbers on the component parts of artillery revolvers don't match.  The condition of this revolver shows use that would be expected from a military issued weapon, but remains in excellent mechanical condition.  Has correct U.S. marking and correct mixed numbers.  Frame has DFC (David F. Clark) inspector stamp, with a "G" sub-inspectors mark on the grip strap and an "A" sub-inspectors mark on the barrel.  Correct wooden grips are slightly undersized with a few dings and a gouge on the right grip  No visible inspector cartouche.  Overall, a very solid example of a Colt artillery revolver.
